Episode 000 - Welcome to the Raise Your Frequency Podcast!

Hey there! I’m your host, Lisa Capri, and welcome to the Raise Your Frequency Podcast. Though I don’t know who or what spurred you to listen in today, I DO know that you were meant to, and I thank you for being here. This is Episode 0, and it’s my way of welcoming you here.

As entrepreneurs and solopreneurs, it can sometimes feel like no one gets you. Like you’re a breed of human cut from a different cloth, even of those closest to you.

With this podcast, I hope to create the sentiment that there is always someone in your corner, someone who gets you, and that we can listen, learn and grow with one another as we strive to push the needle forward on our businesses. With each week’s episode, I’ll bring you guests that make you want to push yourself and your business in new ways. Productivity and lifestyle habits are often at the core of why an entrepreneur’s business succeeds or not, so I’ll be bringing to the table top notch thought leaders in those areas to challenge us to do better, be better, and ultimately, to raise our frequency to become the best version of ourselves.

Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, well, who the heck am I? Why am I here? Yikes, that’s a loaded question if I ever heard one. There are so many ways I could describe myself, who I am and what I do in life. Wife, mom, former teacher, multi-passionate entrepreneur, voice over artist, avid reader, writer, self-proclaimed grammar geek…lover of all things health, fitness, lifestyle and productivity…I mean, you name it, the list goes on.

The truth is, I’ve always defined myself as an entrepreneur, even when I was working for someone else, for a corporation or held some other traditional line of work. In fact, once I was old enough to work, I almost always had more than one job at once, even as a teen, and well into my 20s and 30s. This might not have been the easiest way to go through school and get university degrees, but I did it, and the upside of that is that I was able to gain so much valuable experience in business, business administration, leadership and even what it takes to put yourself out there and take those first steps into the entrepreneurial wilderness.

Sure, I’ve run and owned multiple businesses in my life so far, some successful, others not so much (more on that in another episode)…but I’m an entrepreneur through and through, and the downside of the path that I took early on is that I began to accumulate lifestyle habits that weren’t so great for business, like biting off more than I can chew, getting involved in too many projects or businesses at once… shiny object syndrome…thinking that the only way to be successful in business is to work long, crazy hours or 80-hour workweeks…. any of this sounding familiar?

But I’ve learned that over time, no matter how you toss the coin, those habits begin to impact your personal life and relationships, and, ultimately, your health. Lifestyle habits can be so hard to break, even hard to recognize at times, especially when we trick ourselves into thinking that it’s those very habits that define who we are, that they’re part of the very fabric of our being. We tell ourselves the story that it’s just “who we are”. I want to challenge that notion here and challenge you to open up to the idea that there’s a higher and greater version of yourself just waiting to emerge.

As we move forward in the episodes, I’d like you to get to know me and my story more, and I hope to get to know who you are, so that I can be sure to bring content to the show that’s relevant to you. Content that ignites you to take action on a concept or strategy that’s going to bring your business to the next level.

But here’s the thing, just because I’m hosting this podcast and have the opportunity to interview successful thought leaders, doesn’t mean I’ve got it all figured out. It doesn’t mean that I get it right every day. In fact, I fail at things on a regular basis. But it’s through trial and error, my successes and my failures, and a relentless wish to continue to improve my whole being that I can safely say that I’m comfortable with being imperfect…comfortable failing forward…Being an entrepreneur can be exhilarating just as much as it can be frustrating, so just know that you’re not alone in trying to figure it all out.

To honor full transparency to you, the listeners, here are a couple of things I’m struggling with in my world at the time of this recording:

  •  Clarity: clarity in terms of my true purpose, of how I can best serve others, and of what the end result should or could be. Clarity in business should be the #1 thing we work on before we even earn the right to do anything else, but if you’re anything like me, you probably jumped on the entrepreneur bandwagon without a clearly-marked roadmap, so let this podcast be our roadmap.
  • Best practices when it comes to building a business and scaling it, while not losing sight of the other important areas of your life: your family, your relationships, your health, your personal development…This podcast and my guests will be bringing you ideas and strategies to work through the toughest dilemmas in your entrepreneurial world.
  • Being a multi-passionate entrepreneur – how NOT to fall into the trap of getting involved in so many projects at once…oooooh, this one is soooo me and it has been for so long. Shiny object syndrome…learning new skills, new tech, new ventures!
  • And here’s another fun fact for you: As recently as two years ago I sold a successful business in order to help me take the time to learn the tough lessons and at least some of the answers to the questions I’ve just outlined as problem areas for me.

Finally, I’m continuously learning how to get better at raising my frequency in order to achieve my goals in all areas of my life, and this concept has now become the lens through which I look when making decisions about how to spend my time, my effort and my money.

In episode 1, we’re going to learn all about what it actually means to raise your frequency, and how this can impact your business and even the way you do business. In fact, if you’re listening to me now, then that episode is already ready and waiting for you to listen to, so why would I keep you here any longer here?

Let’s jump onto this rollercoaster of entrepreneurial learning curves together. Whether you’re just starting up your business, or only have the seed of an idea, or you’ve been in business awhile, you’re standing in the right line for the right ride. Ready? Join me in episode 1. Buckle up!
